France day 4

Today we went to school and gave presentations about England. The students did a great job and the french students asked a lot of questions! We then took a bus to lovely la Rochelle and had a one hour tour. We had some free time and miss Underwood had us have a picture taken holding this sign- can you see what it says? Very funny! It was a beautiful day and the city is great!
In the evening we visited the "belly button" of the world - the centre of the world where it is believed that this is the place where words were created and stories and tales began! It was really fun and interesting. We had dinner here - typical French bread with fillings of cheese, beans and garlic butter. Back late but a really good day.

France day 3

Today we spent the morning in school receiving our film awards. Each country was given one for their effort on their short film. We received the award brought by the Greek delegation and it was really fun getting it. They brought a traditional Greek head garland and put it on our heads!
We them had a rally around the town of Bressuire. Afterwards was some freetime to buy souvenirs. We then went to the town hall to meet the mayor. Then there was some traditional dance and music at the school. This was very good. I'm the evening we spent our time with the host families and the teachers went to a creperie for dinner. Tomorrow we will five our presentations and visit la Rochelle. Here are a few photos of our day.

Day 2 France

Today was amazing! We spent the whole day at a French "theme" park called Puy du Fou. From ancient Romans to medieval villages there was plenty to do. We set off in two coaches with 90 people in our party.

We had lunch on site and saw a variety of shows. We travelled back at 6pm and students went with host families for their evening meal while teachers had a meal prepared and serves by the teachers from Notre dame college. Tomorrow we will meet the mayor. Thanks for following! Here are a few pictures of our day and some from the local boulangerie.

Day 1 France

Today we gathered at school to meet our students and walk to the venue where we watched the short film festival. It was a large auditorium about a 30 minute walk from college Notre dame. Here we had our opening ceremony with the head teacher's speech and then the film festival of short productions created by the Comenius students and teachers.

We were also entertained by the French and Greek dancers and the Hungarian musicians. Mrs Underwood also sang a French song with the school choir!
We returned to the school hall to play sports but the weather poured down on us walking back that the Olympic games were postponed for later. We had a BBQ at the hall where they cooked for over 600 people! Tonight we're back with host families for our evening meal.

Le weekend en France

The students spent their weekend with host families enjoying French culture! The teachers spent their time with the French coordinator and teachers from Notre dame college. Today we had the pleasure to visit the castle and watch the annual highland games!
Tomorrow our programme begins with an opening ceremony at the school followed by a film festival of short films produced by students and teachers from each country. Let's hope for good weather as the forecast for Bressuire is not great- fingers crossed for beacoup de soliel!
