Day 3
Today was very exciting and fun. In the morning we watched the remaining presentations, as some countries arrived late. They were very interesting. After that we visited the Mayor in the town hall. Here is a picture of us and Miss Earnshaw sat in the meeting room. The Mayor was very pleased that we had all come to Gran Canaria and that we had made and effort to come and see him. We went downstairs and we watched some traditional dancing it was really nice to watch because it was completely

different to how we dance at home !! Emily and Miss Earnshaw were asked to dance with them and they got asked to wear some traditional Spanish garments. We got a picture with one of the dancers.

We have been getting along really well with all the students, it is nice to talk to people with different cultures and backgrounds. Before we went on a tour of the

old town we had some lunch at a local golf club, SUPRISINGLY Emily enjoyed some of the food (result). Today was Anna's birthday (a french student) everyone sang happy birthday to her in all the different languages. When we went on the tour we got split up into 2 groups and we got taken round by a tour guide (a student from the school). It was very interesting and picturesque, there we many beautiful old building with alot of history behind them. We went to Christopher Columbus's house, we had a picture of us touching it ! They made a small museum out of part of his house, there were many different artifacts that he had found on his travels around the world. I found out that he didn't realize he had discovered America, he thought he was in India ! Our tour was brilliant and we even had time to buy some souveniers which was a bonus ! we came back to our Hotel and had something to eat. After our meal all of the students went for a walk on the promenade, it was 17 degrees! when we went for a walk we sat down and about fifteen of us started singing it was really fun and we attracted some attention from the passers by !!
