Comenius Trip 4 - Day 3 -Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany

We were assemmbled into the auditorium and were greeted by the Head Teacher. The German coordinator tranlsated while he welcomed us to his school! It' a really nice school as well! Today we started by visiting the school and listening to all the countries give their presentations on where they go on holiday in their own country. It was really interesting to hear about the different places and what there is to do.
We were second to give our presentation as they were given in alphabetical order so naturally we were one of the first! We talked about a few places to visit in Lancashire and told everyone about Blackpool and the day that we (Mark and Tristan) spent there. Following a short brief, we showed our video of Blackpool, handed out Blackpool rock and Miss Underwood played some George Formby while we handed out the brochures and rock! That is one old song!!!

Here were were talking about our presentation.

We had a break and we drank coffee and ate some homemade Greek biscuits that the Greek team brought with them. They were really good!

The assemmbly hall was filled with German students too who took time from their lessons to come and listen to us! We put up a few posters that Miss Underwood brought with her in the corridor where everyone was puttiing things up about their countries.

Following the presentations, we headed to an old streetcar where we had lunch. It was really good and the weather was nice so we sat outside with some of the students on trip.
We then headed by tram to Oberhausen to visit the Gasometer where they had a very interesting exhibition and lots of photos from all over the world inside.
We took the lift up and then ran down the stairs- You can see how many there were in the picture on the right.

We then visited Oberhausen

After Oberhausen, we went back to the school where they had a party for us all and ate traditional Wurst- German sausage and played football most of the night! It was a great and very busy day. We will visit Cologne on Wednesday- We're looking forward to that.
