Comenius Trip 3 Portugal Day 4

Today we all got on the coach and made our way Coinimbriga ruins and museum, we were led around the museum by a tour guide and given a few minutes to have a look around in one room. The museum contained things that they had dug up on site, things like tools, coins, statues and various other artefacts.

After having the tour of the museum we were taken outside to have a look around. We were given a short talk about how they restore marble/limestone tile paintings. Then we had a short walk around the site where we were shown all of the remains of the different buildings which was tiring to say the least.

Then we had a buffet that contained salad, meat, cheese and bread. Most of us sat outside where we had an outstanding view of the hills and ruins. We also had a nice dessert. According to Jay this was the best meal of the trip.

Then we walked into the hilly town of Coimbra, we had a 20 minute walk/tour. The town of Coimbra is very steep and hilly but when we reached the bottom we were given 2 hours of free time.

In this time we went shopping bought some chickens, and had a ice cream/drink.

We then returned to the hotel to change and head to the school. We had a lovely meal from school before heading outside to play/watch football. Then we were all invited in to listen to Fado music. The musicians wore big black cloaks which is because it is very academic orientated and was created in a university. The Fado music was much more preferred by the older people although some of us found it interesting. We all thought it was good but it went on too long.
